Terms of use

Using the app

You may use The Bible free of charge for personal, church and educational reading. Please do not misuse it: do not try to disrupt the service, overload it, or use it to break the law.

Bible texts and other content

The Bible texts, cross references and fonts belong to their owners and are used under the licences listed on the Licenses & credits page. Those licences, not these terms, govern how you may reuse those works.

The daily reflections, prayers, reading plans and feeling verses are offered for encouragement and devotional reading. They are not professional, medical, legal or counselling advice. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a qualified professional.

Your content

Your highlights, notes and other saved items are yours. They stay on your device (see Privacy), so keep a backup if they matter to you. Clearing your browser data or turning off saving deletes them.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Care has gone into the texts, but errors in transcription or numbering may exist. Some features rely on outside services, such as bible-api.com for the WEB, ASV and BBE translations, which may change or stop.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, DC is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app, including loss of saved data.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Changes are posted on this page with a new date, and continuing to use the app means you accept them.
